Medical Herbalist, AMH (Registered with the Association of Master Herbalists)(wildrooted.org)

I work holistically with folk on their journey to find balance, wellbeing and easefulness.

I have over 20 years’ experience of growing, foraging and making remedies with herbs. I trained in the western herbal medicine tradition with The Plant Medicine School and mostly work with plants grown and harvested in the UK and am mindful of their provenance.

Herbal Medicine is the practice of using plant-based medicines and remedies to bring balance to the body and restore wellness. It has been practised for centuries, passed down through many generations to become what is now modern herbal medicine; combining this traditional wisdom along with contemporary scientific understanding.

Plant-based medicines can work both by themselves and alongside conventional medication as part of an integrated, holistic health plan.  Herbs can support long term conditions and more acute health situations: digestion and bowel problems, disturbed sleep, hormonal and endocrine issues, women’s health from heavy or painful periods, PMT, to perimenopause, menopause and PMOS, as well as respiratory issues like asthma, hay fever and allergies, skin conditions, urinary issues, low mood, anxiety and stress, headaches, low energy and fatigue and musculoskeletal conditions and pain.

The first appointment with me usually lasts one hour, where a full medical and lifestyle history will be taken.  Based on this information, I create a personalised treatment plan which may include:

  • Customised herbal prescriptions (tinctures, herbal teas, powders, ,vinegars and topical applications)

  • Suggestions for affordable diet, supplements, and lifestyle adjustments.

  • Possible referrals for further medical investigation such as blood tests, x-rays…

Follow-up appointments of half an hour usually take place two to three weeks after the initial visit to monitor progress and adjust the medicines or treatment plan if needed.  The duration of treatment varies depending on the condition; acute issues usually get better quickly, whilst chronic conditions often require longer-term care and ongoing lifestyle or diet adjustments. This is a journey we go on together where I support you with step-by-step guidance to find wellness and maintain good health.

Costs: Appointments as per Rebalance costings for members and non-members.

Medicines: Are an additional cost. Weekly medicine costs are between £12-£20 – Average cost £15. This is dependent on what treatment might work and in discussion and agreement with each patient in advance. Patients are given enough medicine to last for 2-4 weeks before the next follow up appointment.

I am committed to maintaining a safe, inclusive, supportive space, in order to provide responsible, ethical, and sustainable healthcare.
