Jivamukti Yoga Method Series
The Foundations of Form and Flow - An Introduction to the Jivamukti Yoga Method
Saturday 16th May, 2.00-5.00pm
Join Amrita Jules in May for the first of a series of Jivamukti Yoga Workshops she will be offering at Rebalance this Summer in Central Brighton.
In this introductory workshop with 800 hour certified Jivamukti Yoga teacher Amrita Jules, you will get to explore and experience the art of Vinyasa Krama specifically in the style of Jivamukti Yoga. Before we can dive deep in to the dynamic and relatively fast-paced yoga method of Jivamukti we need to build a strong foundation from where we can find a seamless flow in the practice. To find this flow state we will first explore the basics in this workshop:
Ideal Breathing - We will practice establishing a steady, conscious breath that will be a thread throughout our dynamic vinyasa practice - specifically getting familiar with Ujjayi breathing. Establishing this steady breath will aid us during the more dynamic, and challenging fast-paced yoga sequencing that Jivamukti Yoga is known for and which we will explore in later workshops in the series Amrita will be offering.
Ideal Posture - We will explore the most practical and steady way to connect to the earth with an overview of different basic key elements we should know about in different groups of postures(asana) like standing, balancing, forward bending, back bending and twists. Creating a steady and joyful foundation to the ground is key to any yoga asana practice- with this we will also explore Mula-Banda(the root-lock)a subtle yogic technique we will learn to utilise during our asana practice).
Ideal Intention/Mind Set - When we strive to overcome obstacles, whether it be in everyday life or on our yoga mat, perhaps the most challenging practice is to establish a supportive mindset. Setting an elevated intention for the practice can completely transform the experience on your yoga journey. The foundations of building meaning and purpose in the practice through learning about the ancient yogic teachings and the spiritual foundations of this ancient practice of yoga can bring much joy and help us to stay focused on what is important - focusing on how we ‘feel’ during our practice, rather than how we ‘look’.
Jivamukti Yoga is a form of vinyasa yoga, based on ashtanga yoga. It developed into a method in its own right in New York in the early 90’s. The co-founders of Jivamukti Sharon Gannon and David Life strived to bring the teachings of their three gurus, Patabbhi Jois, Swami Nirmalananda and, Shri Brahmananda Sarasvati into a yoga method that was accessible to people in the West and not diluted into a mere form of physical fitness. Prepare to chant, meditate, create an intention, move, groove, listen to uplifting music, receive spiritual teachings, as well as receive sublime hands on assists during the practice.
800 hour certified Jivamukti Yoga Teacher Amrita is looking forward to guide you through the practice to give you a taste of the Jivamukti Yoga Method which she has been practicing and teaching passionately for nearly 20 years.
Suitable for All Levels from Beginner - Advanced/Teacher

Spiritual Warrior - A Jivamukti Yoga Workshop
Saturday 13th June 2026 , 2.00-5.00pm
Join Amrita Jules in June for the second workshop in a series of Yoga Workshops she will be offering at Rebalance this Summer in Central Brighton.
In this workshop we continue our exploration of dynamic vinyasa specifically with the Jivamukti Yoga Method.
Come and explore and experience the classic Jivamukti Spiritual warrior sequence along with the Magic Ten warmup sequence with Amrita (800 hour certified Jivamukti Yoga Teacher). Combined together these two relatively short but dynamic sequences, developed by Sharon Gannon and David Life the co-founders of Jivamukti, help you establish a grounded, integrated and juicy dynamic vinyasa practice in the true Jivamukti style.
During the workshop we will practice the traditional one hour Spiritual Warrior sequence at a slightly slower pace with room for questions explanations and demos, breaking down certain sections of the sequence and looking at ideal alignment, ideal breath and smooth transitioning, so that you are well equipped to dive straight into the full relatively fast-paced 1 hour sequence at the end of the workshop.

Standing and Balancing - A Jivamukti Yoga Workshop dedicated to the Root Chakra
Saturday 25th July, 2.00-5.00pm
In this workshop we continue our exploration of dynamic vinyasa specifically with the Jivamukti Yoga Method.
“sthira-sukham-asanam” - “the connection to the earth should be steady and joyful” Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras
Starting with a good warm up and foundational work and moving through a playful sequence of standing asanas we will refine our connection to the earth not only on a physical level but also on a mental and spiritual level.
Feel empowered in your body and clear any blocks associated with the base or root energy centre, also known as Muladhara Chakra. Root chakra energy is associated with the base of the body at the pelvic floor and the legs and feet are also connected to this centre. Muladhara Chakra is associated with our survival needs and instincts. It is also connected to situations around our birth, work life and money and our relationship with nature.
Join us for an inspiring and uplifting practice together with likeminded yogis this July.
PLEASE NOTE: The class is not suitable for complete beginners and preferably you would have some experience of practicing a dynamic vinyasa yoga method.

Juicy Hips & Twists - A Jivamukti Yoga Workshop dedicated to the Second and Third Chakras
Sunday 06 September 2026, 2.00-5.00pm
Join Amrita Jules in September for the fourth workshop in a series of Yoga Workshops she is offering at Rebalance this Summer in Central Brighton.
In this 3 hour hour workshop, Amrita will be sharing with you a practice inspired by the Jivamukti Yoga method, focusing on hip opening and twisting postures.
Included in this workshop will be pranayama breathwork and an in depth explanation and exploration of the potent energy housed in the 2nd and 3rd energy centres, the sacral centre(Swadhistana chakra) and the Solar Plexus (Manipura Chakra).
The second chakra is associated with creativity, fertility, love relationships and emotions. It is a watery feminine energy and when resonating positively can bring a sense of contentment. There can also be many blocks in this area on a physical, mental and emotional level. Working with hip opening asanas can help bring more awareness to where we are holding on and where we need to let go.
The third chakra is connected to our will power, self esteem and joy. Associated with the area of the Solar plexus and diaphragm, our inner sun is a masculine energy and the doorway to the higher more spiritual chakras. Through twisting postures we can relieve stagnant energy here and free up more of our vibrant life force.
Join us for this inspiring and energising practice together with like-minded yogis this September at Rebalance in Brighton
PLEASE NOTE: This class is not suitable for complete beginners and preferably you would have some experience of practicing a dynamic vinyasa yoga method.
