Flo Winterflood
Flo qualified as a multi-style yoga instructor in the foothills of the Himalayas, Dharamshala, India. Whilst living and teaching yoga in Sri Lanka, she then returned to India to complete an advanced teacher training focusing on yoga therapy in Chennai.
Back in the UK, Flo has continued to teach many styles of yoga in London and Brighton, where she developed and first taught Yoga for Gut Health & Healing workshops and private gut health yoga focused sessions.
In 2020, during lockdown, she studied with the Yoga in Healthcare Alliance to become fully qualified in the NHS accredited, clinically trialled yoga programme. She now offers this class as a drop in, GP or self-referral class on Wednesdays at Rebalance.
After studying Kung Fu in Brighton, Germany, and Thailand, she now incorporates qi gong and martial arts mentalities and physicalities into her Dragonflow class on Sundays - a Yang style class quite opposite to the accessible health focused Wednesday's. However, Flo believes it is this balance of Yin and Yang that keeps us in good health: mentally, physically and spiritually.
Through all of her various offerings, Flo endeavours to assist in each individual person’s journey to find their own yogic medicine, and help them use their yoga practice to flow more smoothly with the worlds within, and around them.
After a decade caring for people in clinical settings, studying global paradigms of health in Medical Anthropology at university, and her own difficult healing journey, Flo found Yoga as a practice, and as a way of life, to be the most fulfilling path of hope and healing.
