Norma Fletcher

Class days and times: Mondays, Yoga/sound 1-2pm

I have been practising yoga, meditation and the contemplative arts of Ikebana and Calligraphy for twenty years. My practice and study heritage is rooted in the Kagyu and Nyima lineages of Tibetan Buddhism.

I believe that yoga, meditation and the contemplative arts develop our connection to gentleness, kindness and courage and put us on a path towards understanding the nature of our minds and hearts.

I trained in Vajrasati Yoga which explores the postures, breathing and meditation techniques of modern postural yoga from a unique and innovative perspective. At the same time I qualified as a sound therapist with the UK College of Sound Healing. The Himalayan bowls work on balancing the human energy systems, the billions if cells in our bodies enjoy the vibration of sound. As the soundwaves enter the body, sympathetic vibrations occur in every cell which helps to restore healthy organisation and harmonisation. The overall effect has been described as a deep massage at a molecular level. My classes combine Vajrasati Yoga and a Himalayan Bowl Soundbath.

We live in challenging times, there is a high level of busyness and distraction, when we learn to let go through our practice we become more present, intuitive and responsive , more flexible and open to new ideas, we reconnect with ourselves and each other on new and deeper levels of our being.

Norma’s weekly wind-down class
